I am incredibly excited to report that a complete redesign of the Access Information News website is now complete.
The funding for this redesign was made possible by a generous donation from Mind Vault Solutions, Ltd. I am deeply grateful to everyone on the Board who approved this project.
As promised, just like Top Tech Tidbits, Access Information News will provide free access information news via a mainstream network, but in order to do that we must first be able to deliver that news to “everyone,” and prior to today, we were not doing that. Let me explain.
In 2022, when Mind Vault spun off Access Information News from Top Tech Tidbits, I (Aaron Di Blasi) was tasked with coding the website for Access Information News in order to ensure maximum accessibility and our future ability to remediate said site.
And my choice of design served us well in that regard for the last 4 years. But that choice, while cost-effective at the time, always had one gaping hole in its accessibility.
Namely that the former Access Information News website was not, nor had it ever been, mobile friendly. In short, the former Access Information News website did not detect when you were using a mobile device, and change its design to suit your device. As of today, it does.
The new site was built atop WordPress and is hosted with WordPress.com, just like Top Tech Tidbits. The new site is fully mobile-friendly, in addition to being accessible to assistive technologies. We tested with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and Talkback.
In addition to being mobile first and accessibile, the new site will also take on new life with SEO connections to other WordPress.com powered sites like TopTechTidbits.com, AT-Newswire.com, AI-Weekly.ai, DrKirkAdams.com, DonnaJodhan.com, and many, many others.
The greatest benefit of this redesign, which is a new, mobile-first experience, across all Access Information News newsletters, will benefit both readers, sponsors and advertisers in equal measure. Readers will now be able to enjoy Access Information News from the device of their choice, and sponsors and advertisers will now be able to reach readers in new ways that were never possible before.
Our mission is to make each publication as valuable to the reader as possible, while keeping it free to read, and in doing so give sponsors and advertisers a trusted medium through which they can reach that audience whenever they need to. A model that keeps each publication funded, while keeping it free to read.
